Dyneema® Throwline: 1.8mm HMPE Arborist Throwline for Throw Bag Deployment

The English Braids Dyneema® Throwline is a 1.8mm HMPE arborist throwline for throw bag deployment when setting climbing and rigging lines in the tree canopy. At 1.8mm diameter it is narrower than the standard 2mm polyester throwline, and at 455 kg average breaking load it delivers over three times the breaking strength at 12% less weight.

The reduced diameter and lower weight combine to give a flatter trajectory with less air resistance, allowing more accurate placement in the canopy with a lighter throw bag or the same bag at greater distance. Available in yellow on 50m mini spools. For the standard polyester variant see the Throwline. For the full Dyneema® range see Dyneema® and HMPE ropes and the Dyneema® brand page. For the full arborist range see the arboriculture range.

Typical Applications
  • Throw bag deployment for arborist canopy line setting
  • High-accuracy line placement at extended throw distances
  • Tree surgery preparation requiring stronger throwline
  • Arborist climbing and rigging line installation
